ABOUT DR. JUSTIN WEST
Dr. Justin West, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the Medical Director of Finesse Plastic Surgery. With advanced fellowship training in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, Dr. West has established himself as a leading figure in the field of plastic surgery.
Inspired by his parents—a nurse and a surgeon—Dr. West knew from a young age that he would pursue a career in medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. His early career was marked by his work in the surgical laboratory at the University of California, Irvine, where he contributed to testing new technologies for heart bypass surgery and published journal articles in trauma and cardiac surgery.
Dr. West completed his rigorous six-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, training under world-renowned surgeons, particularly in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. He then pursued an advanced fellowship in aesthetic surgery at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, where he honed his skills in cosmetic surgery of the face and body under the guidance of internationally recognized experts. During this time, he also served as a mentor and instructor for plastic surgery residents from NYU and Cornell University.
Since starting his practice in 2010, Dr. West has garnered numerous accolades, including the RealSelf Top Doctor award and being named Favorite Plastic Surgeon in Newport Beach, CA. His expertise and dedication have made him a sought-after speaker, with invitations to present at multiple prestigious events. His commitment to personalized patient care and excellence is evident in his role as the founder and Medical Director of Finesse Plastic Surgery, where he attracts patients from across the country and internationally.
Beyond his clinical achievements, Dr. West is deeply committed to advancing research for an ultra-rare epilepsy affecting his seven-year-old son, Andrew. As co-founder, President, and Director of Clinical Medicine for the KCNT1 Epilepsy Foundation, Dr. West has been instrumental in driving translational research and drug discovery. His leadership has led to groundbreaking initiatives, including drug repurposing studies and innovative clinical trials. Notably, his son Andrew became the first patient in the world to test a new at-home monitoring device for epilepsy, highlighting Dr. West’s forward-thinking approach.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Justin West is a devoted father of three, including his youngest son, Andrew, who was diagnosed with KCNT1-related epilepsy at just 9 months old. This ultra-rare genetic condition has profoundly impacted Andrew’s life, as he is unable to walk or talk. Despite these challenges, Dr. West and his family remain steadfast in their hope and commitment to finding a cure. As Co-founder and Director of Clinical Medicine for the KCNT1 Epilepsy Foundation, Dr. West collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and pharmaceutical developers worldwide, driving initiatives that seek transformative treatments for Andrew and other children affected by this condition. His journey as both a father and advocate continues to inspire those around him.
