How Does CoolSculpting Really Work?

How Does CoolSculpting Really Work?

The number of fat cells in your body stabilizes between the ages of 13 and 20. These cells shrink and grow as you gain or lose weight, but the total number of cells never changes unless you do something to remove them. In the past, the only option for individuals looking to get rid of unwanted fat cells was liposuction. Now there's a new and easier option called Coolsculpting.

Coolsculpting takes advantage of a phenomenon in which fat cells shrink and die after being exposed to cold temperatures. Scientists first observed the impact of freezing fat cells in children eating popsicles. The fat cells in their cheeks shrink over time, creating dimples. Now with Coolsculpting we can remove stubborn fat and get the slim figure you've always dreamed about. You can loose an inch off your waistline in the time it takes to watch a movie in the comfort of our office.

How Does Coolsculpting Work?

During a Coolsculpting procedure, a vacuum applicator is applied to the treatment area. The area is then chilled to near-freezing temperatures for the treatment cycle.  The number of cycles will vary depending on the areas being treated. Once the procedure is complete, the applicator is removed and the area is massaged for 2 minutes. Numbness, tingling, tenderness, and redness are the most common side effects, and will usually resolve within a few hours.  There is no downtime required for CoolSculpting so you can return to your normal routine right away.

How Long Does it Take to See Results?

It takes several weeks for your body to break down and process the fat that has been treated. You'll start seeing some improvement in as little as three weeks, and your final results within 2-3 months.

Does it Really Work?

The fat layer in the targeted areas will be reduced by 20-25 percent. Coolsculpting permanently eliminates the fat cells that are treated. This allows you to perform targeted fat reduction on love handles, stomach bulges, inner/outer thighs, and the excess fat under your chin and around your knees. With fewer fat cells, your body will be leaner and slimmer than ever before.
